  • P2 72001 COCK O’ THE NORTH was steamlined by Sir Nigel Gresley when it came to Doncaster in 1938 for its major overhaul. This is the version being built by Doncaster P2 Locomotive Trust – not the original as in your photograph. There is an official 1938 photograph of 2001 COCK O’ THE NORTH after outshopping from Doncaster Plant Works. It would be preferable if this was used rather than the 1934 photograph.
