The West Shed has confirmed the date in which steam locomotive 6233 Duchess of Sutherland will return to steam service.
The date has been confirmed for the 9th September 2018 and will take place at the West Shed, and at the Midland Railway Butterley.
6233 Duchess of Sutherland is returning to steam after major repairs and overhaul, before heading off to the Severn Valley Railway and the mainline.
Here is an outline for the day:
- 10 am – 12 pm: Photographic session – £10 entrance charge to the West Shed area.
- 12 pm: Official unveiling of the Duchess
- 12 pm – 4 pm: Free admission to the West Shed
