Chiltern Railways has announced that they have been voted the top train operator for London and the South East for reputation in the latest Rail Reputation Index.
The train operator has also been number one for positive social media sentiment and number 2 in the country in the Rail Reputation Index, only being beaten by Grand Central.
The Rail Reputation Index is produced by BDRC who are a research and consultancy agency. The Index is based on 4001 online interviews with passengers of UK train companies.
Each Train Operating Companies sample is designed to be representative of its mix of journeys.
What did the officials say?
Chiltern Railways Managing Director, Dave Penney, said:
“We are delighted that Chiltern Railways is the train company people are most likely to recommend in London and the South East and top of the table for positive social media sentiment.
“This is a testimony to the hard work that all our people put in every day, and our commitment to investing in our railway to make it better for our customers.
“We've already invested £2 million in new ticket vending machines to make travelling with us easier and we've also upgraded our website and live train times app following customer feedback.
“We continue to develop based on what passengers tell us and we want to do more to give our passengers the experience they deserve by enhancing parking facilities, and ensuring we never give up on improving punctuality. We have plans to invest in our stations and we are investing a further £2 million in new ticket offices and station facilities over the coming year.”
