The Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust (PRCLT) Facebook page has announced that 6233 Duchess of Sutherland has passed its boiler test, at West Shed at the Midland Railway – Butterley.

Now that the locomotive has passed its boiler test, the team will now be working hard at recladding and lagging of the boiler.

The recladding and lagging of the boiler is a physically demanding job, so if you would like to assist in this job, please get in touch with them as you would be most welcome!

Once the recladding and lagging of the boiler is complete, 6233 Duchess of Sutherland will be repainted and run in ahead of a return to the mainline and heritage railway visits.

You will be able to see 6233, 80080, Princess Margaret Rose and Royal Saloon 45000 at the ‘Patrons and Friends of the Duchess Weekend’ on the 14th and 15th July 2018. More of which will be announced soon.
