The North Norfolk Railway has announced that BR Britannia steam locomotive No.70013 Oliver Cromwell will be visiting the line for their Autumn Steam Gala.

The Autumn Steam Gala will see No.70013 Oliver Cromwell join up with the home fleet of N2 No.1744, B12 No.8572, BR 4MT No.76084, Y14 No.564, 8F No. 92203 Black Prince and 8F No.90775 to provide an intensive timetable.

The Gala will be held between the 31st August 2018 and 2nd September 2018 and will see other locomotives visiting the line, more news of which may be announced soon.

The locomotives visit is courtesy of the National Railway Museum and 5305 Locomotive Association. This is your last chance to see 70013 at the NNR before it goes out of service for an overhaul.

About 70013 “Oliver Cromwell”

Saved for preservation by the National Railway Museum and placed in the national collection, most of 70013's preserved life has been spent inside Bressingham Steam & Gardens as a static display.

In 2004, however, it was decided to put a new lease of life back into 70013 by overhauling the engine, ready for hauling 40th-anniversary trains on the mainline in 2008.

Ever since then, 70013 has been a popular engine on both the mainline and heritage lines. In particular, the Great Central Railway, 70013 is based here when not on the mainline. This allows its maintenance work to be carried out. 70013 carries BR Lined Green with late crest livery.
