The 6880 Society has announced that on the 25th June, steam locomotive 6880 Betton Grange moved to Tyseley in preparation for the boiler to be fitted.
The fitting of the boiler will take place over the summer at Tyseley before moving back to the Llangollen Railway.
Once the boiler is fitted, 6880 Betton Grange will move back to the Llangollen Railway where work to finish off the locomotive will begin.
The group is currently looking for sponsors for the Superheater elements, 21 of each are needed to finish the boiler. If you would like to sponsor one of these elements, please click here.
We are really looking forward to seeing 6880 Betton Grange, the 81st Grange, in steam for the very first time.
