Lots of things to do this Summer at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway

The Summer is upon us, the suns out and the schools are breaking up for their holidays. This can mean bored kids and cabin fever but fear, not the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway have plenty of activities to keep you and your little ones entertained.

The is running five days a week throughout the summer, these are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You don't need to book, just turn up and take your little ones on a lovely ride in a railcar or behind a heritage diesel locomotive.

If you have an evening to spare away from your children, why not attend one of the railways Luxury Tuesday Afternoon Tea Dining Trains – here, you can enjoy an afternoon in one of the railways 1950s dining cars between Wirksworth and Duffield, tickets are £59 for two people, and include a sat in the dining car and an all-day ticket each. Also coming up this summer is Annual Classic Transport Weekend, which is being held on  Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July, Diesel Locomotive Weekend,  which is being held on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th August, 1950s Bank Holiday Weekend, which is being held from Saturday 25th to Monday 27th August and Murder Mystery Train, which is being on held on Saturday 25th August.

The Rainy Day Guarantee

The Rainy Day Guarantee states that if it rains continually for two hours or more when you visit the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, you will be able to claim a free ticket to return to the railway.

Subject to confirmation with the local metrological centre. If this does happen on your visit, please email Tom Tait to make your claim with a scan of your original ticket.
