Extra trains from Great Western Railway for passengers heading to the Boardmasters Festivals

Great Western Railway has announced that they are set to run 13 additional trains to and from Newquay. However, passengers must make reservations to travel.

The Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach festival attracts more and more people each year, and the train operator will be operating a reservation only system.

Train reservations will be required on all services to Newquay on Wednesday 8, Thursday 9, and Friday 10 August and from Newquay on Monday 13 August.

Services from Plymouth to Newquay:

  • 1532 (NOT FRIDAY)
  • 1809 (NOT FRIDAY)

Services from Paddington will be at:

  • 0649
  • 0903
  • 1118 (NOT FRIDAY)
  • 1336 (NOT FRIDAY)

Services from Newquay will be at:

  • 0732
  • 0923
  • 1055
  • 1242
  • 1507
  • 1703
  • 1855
What did the officials say?

Newquay Station Manager Mike Trotter explains:

“Newquay Station is set to serve more people in a day than it usually does in a week, so we will be operating a reservation only system, with customers only able to board their booked service.

“This will allow those travelling to board the service more easily, and will help us to manage queuing at the station more efficiently.”
