Direct Rail Services (DRS) have announced that their annual Crewe Open Day has raised a massive £37,351.
The record-breaking amount will go to charities and local causes.
The good weather was on their side and helped to attract 4000 visitors, who visited to look at behind the scenes of a rail freight depot.
Over 20 locomotives were on display, from a Class 37 to a brand new Class 88 locomotive, there was definitely something for everyone.
Network Rail and British Transport Police, along with Sammy the Safety Bear from Virgin Trains were there to support the event.
Two naming ceremonies were celebrated at the event. Class 66 No.66421 was unveiled as ‘Gresty Bridge TMD' by MP Laura Smith. Brian Hetherington from the engineering team unveiled Class 57 No.57007 as ‘John Scott'.
The nameplate auction also raised a staggering £13,000.
