Diesel and steam locomotive hauled trains this weekend at the East Lancashire Railway

The East Lancashire Railway has announced that there are a few changes to the timetable this weekend and which type of locomotive will be hauling trains from Bury Bolton Street.

No specific locomotives have been confirmed as of yet, but the hope to confirm this soon.

The below details can change without prior warning, so please do bear this in mind if you are visiting this weekend.

The plan for this weekend is as follows:

Saturday:

  • Double headed steam locomotive hauled train – 9:30 service to Rawtenstall.
  • 10 am train service from Heywood will be diesel hauled.
  • 10:15 service to Heywood to be steam hauled

Sunday:

  • 9:30 am service to Heywood will be diesel hauled.
  • 9:30 am service to Rawtenstall will be steam hauled.
  • The Lancastrian Lunch diner will be steam hauled.
