The Groudle Glen Railway has released an update on the overhaul of steam locomotive Sea Lion.
The locomotive left the Groudle Glen Railway a couple of weeks ago and has gone to the North Bay Railway, specifically, the North Bay Railway Engineering Services. There, work has begun on the railways original locomotive, Sea Lion, built in 1896.
The locomotives cab front has since been removed, this allows more work to be completed on the cab front.
New flanges have also been machined for the locomotives new steel tanks. These tanks have now also been refitted.
The locomotive's boiler has now been completed by Bennett Boilers. The boiler is due to be delivered to the North Bay Railway and fitted to the locomotive in the near future.
The locomotive is expected to be back in service by the end of the season at the Groudle Glen Railway.
