Rail union, RMT, has today confirmed that they have suspended strike action which is set to take place in June on the Greater Anglia network.

The strike action was set to take place on Saturday 16th June 2018 and Saturday 23rd June 2018 but has today been called off.

This means that train journeys will be unaffected on both dates and you should be able to travel as normal.

What did the officials say?

Mick Cash, General Secretary, said:

“RMT welcomes the fact that has put forward an improved offer during a meeting between the management and the union.

“In our view, the offer is good enough to be put to the membership with a view to resolving this dispute.

“Therefore the union has suspended industrial action on Greater East Anglia planned for Saturday 16th June and Saturday 23rd June 2018 while we conduct a referendum ballot of our members.”‎

  • Whilst there is track failures at London Liverpool Street which the 2 platforms had to close. As Network Rail are trying to find what caused the track to not work which I’ve heard that the tracks are not made in the UK and new set of track is to be made in France which won’t be ready to be installed until October. Which means yet more disruptions to services for 5 months.
