Steam locomotive Sian to visit the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway

The Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway has announced that steam locomotive Sian will be visiting the line for their 70th Anniversary Weekend.

Sian is owned by The Sian Project Group and currently is a resident at the Kirklees Light Railway. She joins Katie and Smokey Joe in next months gala, which will see an intensive timetable in operation.

The 70th Anniversary Weekend will be taking place on the 14th and 15th July 2018 with all other resident locomotives in action.

A brief history of Sian

Sian was built in 1963 by Guest Engineering. This locomotive is a sister locomotive to Katie, who is also visiting for the 70th Anniversary Weekend. Early life for Sian was spent at the Fairbourne Railway, in North Wales, when it was a 15in gauge railway. Recently, she has spent time at various narrow gauge railways, including residing at the between 1995 and 1998.
