The Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway will be running a busy timetable over the Summer this year, with trains running over the newly completed extension for the first time.
Steam locomotive ‘Jurassic' will be in operation throughout the Summer on the railway, which has been extended by 150 metres to the new terminus of South Loop.
The locomotive was built in 1903 by Peckett and Sons for Kaye and Co's. Quarry. It has returned to steam thanks to a £43,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and donations by supporters
The railway runs in the Skegness Water Leisure Park in Skegness, where return fares for Adults and Children are just £1 – you cant get that value anywhere else!
Trains will operate between 11 am and 15:45 on Saturdays from the 21st July to 1st September 2018, additionally, trains will run Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September in conjunction with the Class Wheels event in the Leisure Park, and also on Sunday 26th August 2018.
Wednesday Running
The railway will be operating on Wednesdays also in August (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th) with one of the railway's ‘Simplex' diesel locomotives hauling the trains, still at the great price of £1 return.
