The Leighton Buzzard Railway has announced that their annual Ale Trail saw a record number of visitors to the event.
The annual event was held over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd June 2018 at the narrow gauge railway.
More than 500 visitors attended the event, who were all able to taste 20 different beers and ciders from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The range included the Leighton Buzzard Brewery's Narrow Gauge, an ale named in honour of the line.
Bars were positioned at each end of the line, at both Page's Park and Stonehenge Works, and trains ran hourly to transport passengers between the two, this included evening trains for the later session on Saturday.
Around 800 pints were consumed over the two days, with third, half and full pints being available.
The next event at the Leighton Buzzard Railway is their first-ever whisky festival. This is being held on Father's Day, which is on Sunday 17 June for 2018.
This event will be being held at Stonehenge Works, with access being exclusively for passengers on trains who board at Page's Park where attendees will be able to choose from around 75 whiskies and other spirits. Drinks will start at £1. Additionally, Willow Tree Distilling, the local gin producer will be in attendance. Hot food and soft drinks will also be available.

‘Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event was planned at very short notice. However, based on the number of customers and their feedback, this didn't detract from the success of the weekend – a testament to our committed volunteers. We have exciting plans for next year and will be announcing the dates for 2019 in the autumn.'
