Ocean Network Express and Freightliner have announced that they have signed a contract for guaranteed rail wagon capacity on main intermodal routes in the UK.
Making the change from road to rail means that 118,000 road miles a day will be removed from UK roads, meaning greenhouse gasses will reduce by 67% in comparison to road transport.
With the formation of ONE steps are being taken to make sure environmental sustainability will play an important role in both ocean and inland transport.
Prior to becoming ONE, the three Japanese lines were satisfied with Freightliner as a reliable rail partner
What did the officials say?
Derek Wakeling, Product and Network Director at ONE said:
