The South Devon Railway, which runs from Buckfastleigh to Totnes Riverside, has announced that there will be a change to this weekends locomotive roster for hauling passenger trains.

On Saturday 12th May 2018, the passenger service will be hauled by a heritage diesel locomotive at the line, rather than Pannier Tank L92.

At the time of writing this, the has not announced which diesel locomotive it will be. Expect it to be either Class 33 No.33002 or Class 37 No.37275.

The change in locomotive for this weekend is due to a mechanical problem with the Pannier Tank – which is seen in London Transport red livery.

No other steam locomotives?

Steam locomotive No.6412 will be in operation on other services on the line, which means it is therefore unavailable to haul the normal passenger service.
