The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway has seen No.41241 go on test yesterday evening as the overhaul races along the home straight.

The locomotive hauled the reopening special when the railway reopened as a heritage line, but has been out of action for a number of years whilst it undergoes its annual 10-year overhaul.

41241 is set to star at the 50th Anniversary Gala in 2018, a mammoth 8-day gala celebrating 50 years since the railway became a heritage railway alongside the likes of 7714, 46100 and more!

Yesterday evenings test saw the locomotive go on a ‘light engine' test from Oakworth to Oxenhope, and now has 40 successful miles on test!

For those of you that don't know, a light engine test is where the locomotive goes on its own, with no carriages, up and down the line.

This test means the locomotive is now one step closer to hauling passengers up and down the line once again. We look forward to hearing more news on this locomotive.
