The Mid Suffolk Light Railway has announced that their Middy in the War Years event, held on the 6th and 7th May 2018, has been hailed a great success.

Record takings at the booking office and around the site have been recorded by the light railway.

The weather certainly helped, providing brilliant sunshine all day on both days. Trains were full throughout, too!

Visitors were treated to drill displays by the ‘Home Guard', performances from the Brown Penny Dancers and music and singing from 40s style singer ‘May Blossom'.

What did the officials say?

Events Manager, Rose Weller, said:

“We were very pleased with how the two days went as we had tried to make it more of a celebration of the spirit of the times and I am already starting the booking process for next year”.
