World famous locomotive ‘Flying Scotsman‘ will be back in steam tomorrow on the mainline and will be passing through Manchester on its journey.
The A3 locomotive is on a light engine movement. 60103 is moving from the East Lancashire Railway, in Bury, where it has spent the winter months on maintenance and is heading down south to the West Coast Railway’s Southall depot, ahead of hauling a series of steam train charters in the next coming week.
The steam locomotive will stop at Manchester Victoria at approximately 11:12 am, before heading off for Crewe at 11:14 am.
From Manchester Victoria, it will head via Eccles, Newton-le-willows and Warrington Bank Quay before heading down the West Coast Mainline via Crewe, Rugby, Milton Keynes and Watford to get to its first destination of Acton Lane Sidings.
After a break and refuelling, the locomotive will then make the short hop to Southall depot where it will be based.
