On the night of the 17th April 2018, parts of a steam locomotive were stolen from the Ropley Works on the Mid Hants Railway (The Watercress Line).

The parts were for locomotive number 828, and are owned by the Eastleigh Railway Preservation Society.

Both the ERPS and Mid Hants Railway are now looking to get these parts recovered as quick as possible.

Both organisations now need your help to find the missing parts and return them to their rightful owners.

The parts that have been stolen are:

  • Injectors 11mm Gresham and craven x2
  • Clack valves x2
  • Ross pop safety valves 4″ x2
  • Drivers brake valve
  • Marine big end shells 4x halves
  • Coupling rod bushes x6
  • Unknown pipe quantity.
  • Slide bar oil pots x5
  • Stuffing box valve x1
How can I help?

  • Without wanting to sound racist, I suggest you enquire about Eastern European communities within the area because, sadly, the police are so PC they’ll avoid such!
