Epping Ongar Railway give new home for steam locomotive No. 3837

The Epping Ongar Railway has announced that it has given steam locomotive No. 3837 a new home.

The new home will allow for its continued restoration back to steaming condition.

The Hawthorn Leslie locomotive is the sister to the railways resident steam locomotive ‘Isabel'.

Steam locomotive No. 3837 was built in 1934, formerly., the locomotive was Corby Iron & Steel Works Number 16, it had a working life at Corby Iron & Steel Works.

The locomotive arrived at the yesterday, Thursday 19th April 2018, and will be a long-term project to bring this locomotive back to working condition.
