The Mid Hants Railway (MHR – The Watercress Line) have created a BT MyDonate page in order to raise funds for their Wadebridge project.

Background Information

Southern Railway West Country class No.34007 “Wadebridge” became part on the MHR’s home fleet at the end of 2008, when the Mid Hants Railway Preservation Society (MHRPS) purchased the majority share in the engine’s owning group, Wadebridge (34007) Locomotive Ltd.

Since then Wadebridge has been a popular and brilliant edition to MHR’s big home fleet, performing at many galas both home and away.

The West County’s boiler ticket expired in 2016, now being stored at the MHR waiting for its turn in the overhaul queue. At the moment, no set date has been made when work can start.

Funds raised by the BT MyDonate page will go towards 34007’s overhaul, helping to shorten the time spent on working on the oldest Bulleid Light Pacific in preservation.

For more information or to support Wadebridge’s overhaul, please visit the project’s BT MyDonate page here.
