The right-hand side cylinder and steam chest have been cleaned, with reboring being carried out, where needed, soon. All four slidebars have been removed, had Non-Destructive Tests (NDTs) carried out, aliment checked and finally refitted to the engine.

The coupling rods have been examined after removal, also receiving a clean. Crankpins are in good condition after NDTs were carried out. All coupled wheels have been removed and cleaned for examinations.

On examination, some axleboxes will need remetalling, followed by machining before refitting.
