The tanks are due to undergo testing by filling them with water to check for any leaks. If they pass then they will both be shot-blasted and painted for protection, prior to the final paint job.

In the cab, the vacuum pipes below the driver’s pedestal have been fitted, despite taking a while to fit due to their fiddly nature and awkward position.

Lining up the wheels

The wheels have been lined up at Bridgnorth so they can be placed in the right order when the chassis is lifted onto them later this year.

Stephenson Engineering has completed their work on the slide bars. Once at Bridgnorth, they will be used to mark the holes for securing bots, which will be then be drilled into the chassis. The piston rod forgings only need some machining work to be carried out at Bridgnorth before ready for use.
