Steam locomotive No. 6029 ‘The Garratt’ announced for the Hunter Valley Steamfest in Australia

The Hunter Valley Steamfest has announced that steam locomotive No. 6029, also known as ‘The Garratt' will be visiting the festival, in Australia, on the 14th and 15th April 2018.

The locomotive joins steam locomotive No. 3642 at Burton Automotive for the event this year.

6029 will be completing return journeys to Branxton throughout the weekend. The locomotive will also be taking its place alongside 3642 for The Great Train Race on Sunday Morning – tickets can be booked here for this.

The Garratt is the southern hemispheres largest steam locomotive in operation. It will be visiting Steamfest for the second time, having first come to the festival in 2016.
