Hunslet No. 2890 is ready to start hauling trains on Great Central Railway Nottingham (GCRN).

When Can You See 2890?

The first trains with the Hunslet are scheduled over the Easter holidays, with many visitors coming to the line over this period.

2890 is based on “Douglas” from Thomas and Friends, making the engine popular with Thomas fans.

The rebuilt form of 2890 is ideal for most heritage lines, with the tender carrying more coal and water than the bunker and tanks 2890 had when a tank engine.

If you can’t get to the GCRN over the Easter period to see 2890, don’t worry, the engine is staying at the line for the rest of the year.
