Work continues at the Strathspey Railway's Aviemore Engine Shed on reassembling Black 5 No. 5025.
Many components have been refitted to the engine. These include the cab (side sheets and roof), slidebars (both sides), damper linkage, engine's brake gear (in the process of being refitted).
Some components have received work or undergoing work prior to refitting. Such components include blast pipe, rear valve covers (examined and painted ready or refitting) and parts for the cab.
The tender spring hangers have passed their Non-Destructive Tests.

The Watkinson Trust hope to see 5025 hauling trains for the middle of 2018. Much work is still needed to be done, with donations helping to make sure 5025 steams this year.
