‘Glos Warks’ to celebrate Asparagus Day with “The Asparagus Express” steam train

"The Asparagus Express" Credit Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway have announced that they will be running  “The Asparagus Express”.

This will launch this year's British Asparagus Festival.

British Asparagus Festival

Starting on St George's Day, 23th of April, the British Asparagus Festival is a two-month long festival dedicated to the asparagus.

The Asparagus Express

The  will run the train which will start the festival.

The train, with its own headboard, starts from the newly built Broadway Station at 10.30, running to Cheltenham Racecourse non-stop. The train returns to Broadway around 12 noon.

There will be various entertainment actives on the platform, such as Music, ‘The Asparamancer' (Fortune teller using Asparagus), Bobby the Asparahorse and Gus.
