The 6695 Locomotive Group have released information on the latest work carried out on 6695’s boiler at the Flour Mill Workshops.

Work completed to date

All rivets for the foundation ring have now been removed. The steel plate which was wasted groove plate has been cut away from the bottom of the outer side sheets.

Next work to be carried out?

To carry out the next work, removal of the foundation ring and the lower section of the throat plate will also be removed. The boiler will need to be turned upside down.
