Work has continued on assembling the running plates for 61662 “Manchester United”.
In early February, the team building 61662 received the right-hand side running plate for the engine. All three pieces were trial fitted to the engine shortly after being delivered to the team.
Recently, the team has continued work on the running plates. A wooden frame has been built to support the running plates in place, to allow any adjustments to be made.
With the first plate lined up correctly, the team has started on fitting the Valance and applying a coat of red oxide. This will help protect the running plate from the weather.
