Overnight rail replacement between Blackburn and Colne this week

National Rail has announced that engineering works will be taking place this week between Blackburn and Burnley.

This engineering works will close all lines overnight.

What trains does this engineering work affect?

On Monday through till Thursday, the 22:45 Preston to Colne service will terminate at Rose Grove. This service will now not serve Burnley Barracks, Burnley Central, Brierfield, Nelson or Colne.

On Tuesday through till Friday Morning, the 04:57 Blackburn to Colne service will be replaced by a rail replacement bus throughout its journey.

The 05:31 Colne to Preston service will be run as a bus service between Colne and Blackburn, and then train from Blackburn.

The works will affect Northern Rail services only.

Please note: non-folding bikes are NOT allowed on any rail replacement bus service at any time. Folding bikes are allowed if fully folded before boarding.
