The rail union, , has today announced that the planned strike action on the Docklands Light Railway this week will go ahead.

The driverless railway, which operates around London, are in a dispute over industrial relations.

The workers involved in the dispute this week are employed by contractor ISS on the KAD contract.

This week strike action follows from the last 48-hour strike just a fortnight ago when the RMT exposed “the fact that ISS was prepared to bribe scabs with bundles of cash in a desperate effort to break the strike while denying their permanent staff the pay and workplace justice they are entitled to”

The strike action is as follows

  • 05:30 hours on Thursday 22nd February 2018 and 05:29 hours on Saturday 24th February 2018.
What did the officials say?

RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said “We are supporting our members in this further phase of strike action this week in a bid to force management to honour agreements, pay staff their contractual hours and give their staff proper respect and dignity at work. It is now time for the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, to step in and sort out this company who are abusing a key group of London transport workers on his watch.

“RMT Reps have continually chased management to settle the dispute but the company is blatantly ignoring the union's concerns. The fact that the company was prepared to kick back in our faces genuine attempts by the union to resolve the dispute in talks speaks volumes about their attitude.

“The union remains available for meaningful talks.”
