Removal of the valves and pistons and examination of the bores on 73082 has shown that they have been kept very clean. This has come down to the Lubricator doing a perfect job.

The bores will not require any re-boring, having a good diameter size. Both the valves and pistons will require work, with the new piston heads and rings for the pistons and new rings for the valves.

The white metal bearing surface of the crossheads will need to be built-up. Both the crosshead's location points and associated slidebars don't need an attention.

Re-metalling of some brushes belonging to the coupling and connecting rods will take place, with the motion rods having a clean.
