Overhaul work on 6880 ‘Betton Grange and its Boiler at Tyseley Locomotive Works is progressing well.

6880 Betton Grange is the 81st Grange and its build is taking place at Tyseley.

Removal of the Front Taper Section of the Boiler has been done. Metal forming the Outer Firebox that needs replacing has been cut out and removed.

This now can allow for the new sections to be fitted to the Firebox.

New Parts

New parts for the Boiler have also been delivered to Tyseley. These are the Smokebox and Ashpan, both brand new.

Both have been delivered as a Kit of Parts, and will need to be assembled before they can be fitted to 6880’s Boiler.
