The team overhauling No. 6695 at the West Somerset Railway (WSR) has been making good progress.

Rolling Chassis

Recent work on the rolling chassis has focused on reassembly of the brake linkage. This has involved fitting the last pins to the Linkage.

Other parts have been cleaned up, ready to be refitted to the engine when needed.

The Cab's Rear Spectacle Plate has been rubbed down to allow more filler to be applied.

Boiler

The boiler has recently been moved from Williton on the WSR to the Flour Mill.

Work will shortly commence on its overhaul. First is the removal of the foundation ring, with outer Firebox wrapping have all wasted steel plate cut away.

6695's owners have released a boiler appeal, in order to help overhaul the Boiler. More information on the Boiler Appeal can be found here
