30120 will be attending the gala. The T9 was withdrawn last year to undergo some extensive cylinder work, which has been successful and seen the engine back in steam at the end of 2017. Also in December saw the National Railway Museum confirm that 30120 will remain at Swanage until September 2020, when its boiler ticket expires.

U Class 31806

Recently returned from an overhaul to mainline standard, the Spring Gala 2018 will be 31806's first gala after overhaul. With Swanage Railway possibly running trains up to Wareham on the mainline (TBC), 31806 maybe at the front of these trains, or even mainline tours in the future.
