Ivatt 2 tank No. 41241, which is undergoing an overhaul at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, has recently seen its cab roof have a repaint.

Before painting could begin, the cab roof had to be hosed down outside of Haworth Shed. The cab was then moved inside and sanded down before painting began

The first coat of paint to be applied was a grey undercoat to the inside of the roof.

The front section of the cab (which fits around the firebox and has the window frames) has been given a coat of black paint instead.

When is the boiler going back on?

Once painted, the cab roof will be ready to be fitted. A date is yet to be confirmed for when a crane can be hired to lift the boiler back onto the rolling chassis.
