Locomotive Services TOC Ltd has signed a deal which sees Class 40 No. 40013 “Andania” become part of their fleet for the next three years.

Carrying BR Green Livery and numbered D213, Andania is currently based at Barrow Hill Engine Shed, among other diesel locomotives of various classes there.

Locomotive Services TOC Ltd will use 40013 solely for Mainline Tours.

40013 ‘Andania’ currently doesn’t meet all Mainline Standards and will require fitting of both Train Protection Warning System (TPWS) and Network Rail’s GSM-R communication system.

This work should be completed soon, allowing 40013 to get out onto the Mainline this year.

  • Nice to see a second 40 out on the mainline, along side Deltics and class 37s, show some of these modern locomotives what what old English Electric sounds like. Lots of noise and lots of rattling and Clagg
