Grand Central Rail Company Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Train Operating Company (TOC), Grand Central Rail, are celebrating their 10th Anniversary of being in business and to celebrate are holding special promotions.

was established in 2007 and has its headquarters in York.

A specially made celebration cake was made for its 10th Anniversary where long-serving colleagues got together to celebrate the occasion.

Grand Central became part of the Arriva brand in 2011 and has two routes. London to the North East and North Yorkshire and London to West Yorkshire (since May 2010). They have 18 trains a day operating 15 stations and the company has 150 employees. Every year, Grand Central cover 1.5 million train miles and carry over 1.4 million passengers.

What did the officials say?

Richard McClean, Managing Director at Grand Central, said: “I am very proud of our track record and I'd like to thank all our customers, partners and colleagues for their support over the last decade. This 10th anniversary is a big deal for us and we're delighted to be able to share it with our customers and colleagues as they have been critical to the success of our journey so far. As we look forward to 2018 and to the next decade of our history, we have ambitious plans and are facing some exciting times ahead. Alongside significant investment in our trains, we will be seeking to grow our business, running more trains and calling at more stations.”
