Steam locomotive ‘Stanhope' will be working all of the Apedale Valley Light Railway ‘Santa Specials' and this will be her last steaming days for a while.
This is due to the loco required a major overhaul and will see the locomotive out of action for most of 2018.
Stanhope is the railway's flagship locomotive and is a firm favorite at the railway and will be missed.
This means if you want a ride behind the locomotive , then you will need to book on one of the AVLR Santa Specials.
The Santa Specials are heavily booked already, though spaces do remain.
The headboards used are fairly inoffensive on the loco so pictures will look just fine!
