9F Boiler returns to the East Lancashire Railway

After successful steam testing, the Boiler of Locomotive 9F No. 92134 has been loaded onto a lorry, for transportation back to the East Lancashire Railway (ELR), where the remainder of the locomotive is currently based.

The Boiler has spent the last 17 years at Crewe, where steam locomotive No. 92134 was originally built in June 1954.

As of the 18th December 2017, the Boiler has arrived at the and has been reunited with the chassis. This will allow the final stages of restoration to now take place.

Once the locomotive is complete, running in turns will start on the East Lancashire Railway.
