London Overground To Launch 24hr Weekend Service From December

Sadiq Khan, who is Mayor of London, has announced that Night London Overground Services will begin in East London this December.

The nightly service will begin on Friday 15th December. This makes traveling at night even easier for Londoners.

The service will run for 24 hours on Friday and Saturday nights on the . The trains will run between New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction. This will be upgraded to Highbury and Islington next year.

The Night Overground services come after the success of the Night Tube. The services have seen 9 million journeys in its first year.

London Overground launched in 2007 and since has become the UK's third largest rail operator.

What did the Mayor Of London Say On The Night Overground Services?

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “The Overground has transformed travel across the capital in the last 10 years. It has opened up areas of London and setting a new standard for quality of service on the rail network. We continue to improve the service every year and I'm delighted that we can bring night services to the East London line for the first time ever next month. The Night Tube has proven such a success with Londoners, I know the Night Overground will help thousands more who are working through the night or out enjoying our capital's nightlife.”
