The is set to hold their last ever open day on the 8th October 2017, before their closure after 10 years.

The museum will open at 10:30 and will shut for the last time at 4:30 – so it is a full day out with the Clacton Café also open for refreshments.

Entrance into the museum is FREE meaning a great day is to be had by all the family for little money.

With the largest private collection of electric railway traction in the UK, there is certainly plenty to see on the open day.

An Electric 7.25″ gauge miniature railway will also be in operation on the open day taking passengers of all ages.

Watch the shunting displays with all working locomotives in use, these will be running throughout the day so make sure you go and see some of the oldest working electric locomotives in use.

Why not leave the car behind?!

Get the train into Coventry railway station and then use the Shuttle Bus from there into the museum itself. Click here for the timetable.
