There are plenty of Halloween Trains being held this weekend, taking on different aspects of each railway for a spookily good time for all the family.

This article will look at a few railways in the UK which are holding Halloween Trains for 2017. The , , Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, and are featuring in our coverage.

Halloween Trains sell out quickly and railways may have already sold out. Please check before travelling

East Lancashire Railway

The East Lancashire Railway are holding their Halloween Specials on the 26th, 27th and 28th October 2017.

The train will take you on a return trip to Rawtenstall and back. Treats will be available at the station buffet, with every child receiving a goody bag. Bury Transport Museum will also have a craft workshop on.

Departures of the trains are at 17:30*,18:30**,19:30** and 20:30*** (the more *, the scarier the trip).

Fares are £14.50 for Adults, £7.50 for Children aged 3-17 and Under 3s are free.

Each trip takes 1 and a half hours.

Ribble Steam Railway

A little different to normal, Ribble Steam Railway holds Halloween Trains where you dont need to book, just turn up on the day!

Dress up in your favorite costume to help fight the ghouls away. The railway offers free face painting too!

Departures for the spooky trains are at 1100 1145 1230 1315 1400 1445 1530 1615*

Fares for this event are £8.00 for Adults, Children are £5.00 with under 3s free, Concessions are also £5.00 and 2 Adults and 2 Children are £23.

Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways

The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways are running Halloween Trains from Porthmadog on October 26th,27th and 28th and from Caernarfon on October 31st.

From Porthmadog, you will be taken up to the dark woods at Tanybwlch for fun and fireworks, hot supper and fancy dress.

From Caernarfon, take the train to Waunfawr for music and fireworks.

Halloween trains leave Porthmadog at 6pm and bring you back for 9:30pm. Trains will leave Caernarfon at 6:30pm and bring you back for 9pm.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway are running their Halloween Trains on the 26th 27th and 28th October.

The train will take you on a spooktacular ride from Pickering to Levisham which tricks and treats along the way.

Everyone will receive a Halloween Activity Bag.

Story telling will take place on the ride, which departs Pickering at 18:00

Tickets cost £20 per person for Adults and Children.

Recommend for children aged 5-12
