London Midland have released timetable changes for the Abbey Line and also the Cross City line as a result of leaf fall on the lines.

The timetable will be in affect from 23rd October until 9th December 2017.

Rob Hornsey, head of Cross City Services said, “Autumn is when the risk of delays increases significantly, so it’s right that we make changes. We listen carefully to passengers and have reviewed feedback from last year. I firmly believe the changes we are making offer a safe and sensible solution and will help to minimise delays and keep our passengers moving”.

The leaves cause trains to slip and slide on the slippy residue left be the trains crushing the leaves on the line. This means that the drivers have to take alterations to their driving and it can take longer to slow down/speed down.
