This weekend, Great Western Railway are warning passengers to avoid rail travel on services which would normally pass through Reading.
This is due to Network Rail carrying out emergency engineering work in the Reading area at short notice.
Network Rail is undertaking important electrification work between Didcot and Maidenhead, this is to accomodate the new GWR Class 387 which rolls out on across the Thames Valley from January 2018.
This means GWR will be running no HST or local services between Didcot, Newbury, Reading and London.
From 2am on Saturday 14th October until start of service on Monday, GWR will be unable to run through Reading.
Bus replacement servuces will operate between Slough, Reading and Theale and also Slough, Reading and Didcot Parkway. Though these are expected to be extremely busy.
Customers can travel on Chiltern Railway services to London Marylebone and also South Western Railway services to London Waterloo.
You can use your ticket for travel through Reading on Friday the 13th or Monday 16th.
