Skipton & Ribblehead Freight & Locomotive Movements (4K)

When out filming Tornado on the Settle and Carlisle Line, hauling Northern Steam Services, we came across a number freight trains and also light engine movements at Ribblehead and Skipton.

Freight Trains over the Settle and Carlisle Line

Freight trains that are used over the Settle and Carlisle are almost always a Class 66. On our visit, it was no exception, the rail freight was operated by Great British Rail Freight (GBRF for short).

Also to note is 66739 ‘Bluebell Railway' hauling a freight train through Skipton station whilst a Northern Class 333 awaits with a train to Leeds.

We used Real Time Trains to see where the Freight Trains would be during the day. It is a excellent website for seeing train services that aren't available on normal timetables 🙂
