Record Breaking Year for East Lancs Railway

With the return of Flying Scotsman back in January 2016, it kicked off a great year for the .

Firstly, they met their target for 200,000 visitors by 2020 four years early. The flying Scotsman returns event being their most popular event since opening in 1987.

Also, across the road at Bury Bolton Street, there was a fantastic achievement by the Bury Transport Museum, who welcomed 47,000 people through its doors in 2016.

At the railway, passenger numbers were up 25% on 2015, which was also a record. This has made the East Lancs Railway the second most popular paid attraction in Greater Manchester.

We are looking forward to visiting the East Lancs Railway in 2017 🙂

  • hi i absolutely love all the effort you have put into the hole railway you have already won the queens award ( so impressive) this is actually true but i have been around the hole of that railway 6 times i have been going there for 2 and a half years and you have just had your 30th anniversary well i wish you all the best from you best friend
