This weeks Throwback Thursday takes us back to a visit to the , and see diesel loco ‘Upnor Castle'.

This picture was taken at Porthmadog Harbour Station during the railways ‘150 Years of Passenger Trains' event back in May 2015.

The locomotive is seen in 4 road after running to Blaenau Ffestiniog with a ‘Breakfast Special' as a special train.

Upnor Castle

Upnor Castle is a 102hp FC Hibberd “Planet” Locomotive. The 0-4-0 diesel locomotive arrived from the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway in February 1968 and was regauged from 2ft 6ins at Boston Lodge Works. The loco had been used up to early 1962 at the Royal Navy's Lodge Hill and Upnor Railway in Kent.
